Step Into The New!

I have been battling in spiritual warfare every night this week. God has been exposing different evil spirits and explaining their assignments against me. These spirits have been blocking my blessings and God’s plans for my life.

We are in a battle people. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). The devil is after the plans God has for us, but the devil is a liar and he cannot have them if we stop him!

In this spiritual battle I have to obey the instructions of God. We must obey God to step into the plans he has for us. We obey by following instructions. We get these instructions from the word of God and by obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit. If you believe God is telling you to do something, do it!

Ezekiel obeyed God even when the instructions seemed unconventional, which was actually the point. God instructed Ezekiel to lay on his left side for 390 days to warn Israel; Then 90 days on his left to warn Judah (Ezekiel 4:4-6). I can imagine how silly Ezekiel looked to some people, but it was not a silly matter. He had to do this because God’s people turned away from him and worshed idols. God is a jealous God and he had to stop the madness. The people were so entrenched with these idols they sacrificed their children in fire to them (Ezekiel 16:21).

God had to destroy people who wouldn’t heed to the warning of Ezekiel. I sure wouldn’t want to be on God’s bad side. Not just in the sense of God’s wrath, but also because if God tells someone to be a watchman like Ezekiel and warn people they should. God told Ezekiel that if he didn’t blood would be on his hands (Ezekiel 3:18).

In a more uplifting sense, another example of following God’s instruction can be seen with the story of Joshua and the wall of Jericho. God informed his people to march around the wall of the city of Jericho for six days, and then seven times on the seventh day (Joshua 6:3-4). On the seventh day they were to sound the trumpets, blast the horn, and give a great shout (Joshua 6:5). After they followed these instructions, the wall supernaturally came tumbling down (Joshua 6:20).

Something supernatural occurred in result of natural behaviors. Joshua did what God told him. He became famous as knowledge of what he did spread throughout the land (Joshua 6:27). God likes to show off through his children. Joshua could have prevented this by saying, “I don’t know God, Are you sure? This will be embarrassing and uncomfortable.” He did not let doubts get in the way. He did what God wanted him to do so that the wall of the enemy came tumbling down (Joshua 6:20).

Maybe what God is asking you to do is something as simple as giving someone an encouraging word. Or maybe God wants you to open a destiny door for someome, or wants you to advocate for someome so that they can go through that door. When you do something for God you will be blessed by it if you follow through.

There are times in my life God instructed me to do things I thought might be silly or insignificant. I remember asking to join the choir at my local church. I kept having a burning desire within me to sing for God. I felt in my spirit that I was supposed to ask to join the choir. I tried to ignore this desire, but God would not let me. I finally gave in and asked to join the choir. I was in the choir for a few years.

Being in the choir may seem insignificant on the surface, but good things came from it. Singing in the choir lead to singing solos at a program the church had which lead to singing a solo at church. God must have had his hand in that because it was weird how it all unfolded. I didn’t even ask to sing the solos in church or in their program. When God has you do something often times you don’t even ask to.

It was during these times I started to realize that God had a calling on my life to sing. My singing blessed some people. One mother came up to me with her teenage son at a church event and said he cried during the event when I sang. She said he never cried like that. I cannot tell you how much that touched my heart because the youth are our future and if anyone needs to be reached it is them. Some people at the church program and in church said that they felt the presence of God when I sang. This would not have happened if I wouldn’t have joined the choir.

I met some awesome people of God in the worship team and choir. They encouraged me and helped me gain confidence. Some of them are helping me get to where God wants me to be even now; Not just with singing but also by encouraging me to write. Now writing is not as fun as singing but it is a little less nerve wracking! After getting encouragement from people about my writing my mom said I should start a blog, so here I am. I thought about having a blog in the past but never felt motivated to until recently.

I don’t know if this blog will be “successful” for God but I am learning more about his word. That is good because I learned I am a teacher of the word of God in a dream. I looked it up and apparently it has something to do with five-fold ministry which I believe is an interesting topic. So I am a teacher with few students, but I guess I am in training till the time comes for me to teach in a church setting. Perhaps this blog, which would seem to be something so small, can help me fulfill some of God’s plans for my life.

I no longer sing in the choir and I know God does not want me to because he told me it is time for something new. But I do know God still wants me to sing. God has spoken to me about what he has planned for me in relation to singing, and he has showed me these plans in several dreams, but I must be patient. I have to wait until that door opens. I was in choir my whole life but God has something new for me. But if I wouldn’t have asked to join the choir, I wouldn’t have gained the confidence that I gained, as well as the revelation of that calling.

The worship team helped me realize I have a special gift. Several people told me I was an amazing singer! I also sharpened my skills and learned the genre of music I am best at, which is a mixture of soul and rock, or at least I think so. I used to think I only sounded country. Don’t get me wrong. I am not bragging here. I don’t like to hear my voice recorded. I think I sound rather scratchy and brash. I am just making a point that we have to do what God wants us to do so that we can step into what he has for us.

I know in time God will use me to sing for him and bless me through it. As Noah was in the ark waiting for dry land, I am still in my house waiting for my promised land. God is getting ready to move through his people and the devil is scared! But we are victorious in Christ! Here recently God told me I have the breaker anointing. I am not sure what that is but it sounds good! I hope you have it as well. Obey God and he will open up the windows of Heaven.

Angel armies are moving on behalf of God’s people. They are paving the way. People of God don’t be afraid of haters or narcissists and please don’t be one. I am trying to not be one myself. When those negative and judgmental thoughts against someone pop up in my head I have to cast them out. I won’t let the devil creep in. Also when I think God is telling me to do something I do it.

Do what God tells you to do no matter how silly or insignificant you think it may be. Let’s step into this new season with determination. Sometimes God has to get us to a place where we have nothing to lose. But we will lose if we don’t move. Moving means obeying that still small voice of God, and we must move in this crucial period of time.

Don’t let the devil try to talk you out of it. Just start doing what God tells you even if you think it’s silly, odd, or insignificant. I started this blog and didn’t really want to. I keep wanting to quit but God says no. I am learning more about the Bible than ever before. I will just be humble and say I was not very motivated to read the Bible in the past. Also through starting this blog I have received encouraging prophetic words!

I started this blog about two months ago and I am exited to see where God takes it. It all started with obeying the voice of God. I did what God wanted me to do with faith. Faith pleases God! Faith moves God! Now is not the time to be discouraged body of Christ. Sometimes God shows up when we least expect it. David didn’t expect to be king when he was tending the sheep. Ruth did not expect to meet Boaz. Esther did not expect to be queen. Body of Christ God is not done with you yet! Just do what you feel God is telling you to do and in due time you will reap the harvest.

I know that as I enter my promised land I will look back and read these blogs and think wow God moved through my faith. Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you do not need the joy of the Lord in all circumstances. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). I say I have the joy of the Lord when I don’t feel like it sometimes so that I will.

I believe God is about to break through the chains that held you back. As many people throughout the Bible hid out in the wilderness I have hid as well. But it was to draw closer to the Lord. I am about to step into my promised land and I hope that you do too.

If you would like to step into your promised land please say this prayer: Father God thank you for sending your son Jesus here on earth to die for my sins. Thank you Jesus for saving me. I will tell someome you came here to earth and died for my sins, and that you have risen. I want to have a relationship with you. Holy spirit please guide me into truth so that I can enter into my promised land. I wont give up! Praise you Jesus!
