God Helps Us in Our Trouble

As a toddler it’s very normal for my daughter to makes messes. Sometimes I think to myself that won’t be the first time, but I am gentle about it because I love her anyway. Maybe that’s how God thinks of us. As his children he knows we are flawed and we will make mistakes, but he loves us anyway. Maybe it’s time some of us stop condemning ourselves and accept that love.

I know I have made mistakes but I must try not to comdemn myself. God doesn’t condemn us because he loves us. When the scribes and Pharisees brought an adulterous woman to Jesus he didn’t condemn her to death even though it was the law (John 8:3). He helped her change by telling her not to sin anymore (John 8:11). If you are saved there is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1). Ephesians 1:7 states that we are redeemed through the blood shed from Christ. God forgives us as we make mistakes. Jesus came to the rescue of the woman who committed adultery. He helped her clean up the mess she was in. You can probably imagine how happy she was that Jesus got her out of trouble.

God is our very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). If you are saved God will help you with whatever trouble you have gotten yourself into. If you are not saved, not sure, or need more of God in your life I invite you to say this prayer: God I know I have made mistakes. I accept your son Jesus to save me so that I can be forgiven for what I have done. I know Jesus died so that I can be forgiven. I want to be free from guilt and condemnation so that I may focus on your goodness and enjoy life. Holy Spirit please guide me so I can do the will of the father. Thank you for saving me so that I can have your joy and peace. I receive your love and I will spread that love to others.
